Scheduled Work Hours:
Full Time - 9 to 5 - 35hrs/wk

Service Scope:

• • Attends all internal and customer project kick-off meetings.
• • Prepares projects definition, scope, and requirements.
• • Plans, directs, and manages the data and telecom circuit migration projects; communicates effectively orally and in writing, including presenting complex technical matters to non-technical individuals.
• • Creates and manages project plans and compiling input from technical resources, management and vendor to refine the project plan.
• • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with a diverse workforce, community and other governmental agencies.
• • Assists in the development, planning, and implementation of new projects and technology in order to meet the overall strategic goals of the organization.
• • Conducts complex studies and surveys of management and methods in order to evaluate and recommend changes to existing projects and tasks to meet the compliance and policy objectives set forth by management.
• • Ensures that The Director of Enterprise Deployment & Implementation and other senior managers are up-to-date on the status of all aspects of the project.
• • Represents the division at external meetings related to project coordination with internal resources as they apply to the delivery of technical services.
• • Holds standing meetings, produces agenda, meeting minutes and action items.
• • Documents risks, issue and problem’s, updates stakeholders and project team on status and resolution of issues.
• • Updates appropriates projects related documents.
• • Creates and distributes as needed project reports providing status, risks, issues and other information needed by management and stakeholders.
• • Manages projects independently, prioritizes work assignments, is quickly responsive to inquiries form stakeholders and management.
• • Provides project updates to SQL/VBA database; pulls reports from Telecom Deployment and Operations database as needed.
• • Partners with DOE vendors to perform site surveys at DOE locations to gather requirements for integration, cabling work and network hardware.
• • Coordinates, directs and oversees installation of network infrastructure within school buildings.
• • Serves as point of contact to the Division’s Senior Project Manager of overall Classroom Connectivity project.
• • Must be able commute within the five boroughs. •

Mandatory Skills:
• Understand network technologies such as MDF, IDF, Router, Servers, Switches, Wireless Access Points, Fiber and copper cabling.
• Must be able to conduct technical network discussions and relay relevant information to stakeholders.
• Proficiency in the following tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, PDF, Visio, Microsoft Project)
• Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) is desirable.
• Bachelor’s Degree or a Master’s degree in Computer Science/ Telecommunications from an accredited college.
6+ years of field experience in the following:
• • Network infrastructure deployment.
• • Demonstrated project management knowledge and experience in telecommunication and data network industry.

5+ years of field project management in the following
• Data network infrastructure installation and deployment.
• Demonstrated collaborative project management and leadership abilities in network infrastructure deployment and implementation.
