Scheduled Work Hours:
Full Time - 9 to 5 - 35hrs/wk

Service Scope:

The Department of Housing Preservation and Development has a need for an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist for the Real-Time Field Force project to test the following components:
• Lead Infraction Identification
• Vacate Order
• Violation Reinspections
• Rollout to Other Borough Offices
• Tablet UX Enhancements

The Quality Assurance Specialist evaluates software developed for to insure that each phase of the software development life cycle delivers quality outputs, so that the final product meets user requirements for function, performance and reliability, and so that the final product conforms to agency guidelines and standards. To do this, the QA Specialist will:
• Develop and maintain test plans and test cases to insure software quality in accordance with agency quality standards for each phase of the Agile Software Development Cycle.
• Participate in daily scrums, sprint planning meetings: participating in product design reviews to evaluate the quality of functional requirements.
• Work with the business and technical staff to establish software delivery acceptance criteria and defect severity classifications.
• Build a library of reusable testing tools for functional testing, database testing, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, load testing, white-box testing, and integration testing for product specific quality assurance.
• Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope and two week sprint timelines.

Mandatory Skills:
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Quality Assurance.
• Hands-on experience using Automation tools, like UFT and Selenium
• Experience in testing data from database synchronization tasks, such as between SQL Server and Oracle environments.
• Experience testing applications developed in Mobile Development Frameworks
• Strong collaboration, relationship management, communication and written skills.
• Good judgment, logical thinker and detail oriented.

Desired Skills:
• Demonstrate understanding of Agile or other Iterative development process.
• Excellent communication skills and values accountability.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience writing functional and technical specifications, user and technical documentation
