Gantech is looking for candidates who are JUST RIGHT to fill a role of Senior EUC Virtualization Engineer to join our team located in Columbia, MD!

Position Details:

The Senior EUC Virtualization Engineer is responsible for technical management and support of GANTECH’s internal and external customer Workspace One implementations. Heavy emphasis will be placed on providing clients with technical guidance in the design, installation, upgrade, configuration, and implementation of VMware’s End User Computing (EUC) products including, Workspace One EMM/RDSH virtualized applications. Candidate must be well versed at a consultant level with implementing the solution as well as providing guidance around the security policy creation.
Candidate must be a self-starter, adaptable to a dynamic environment and skilled in dealing with changing client needs/demands while managing expectations. Must also possess strong multitasking skills to effectively run with several projects simultaneously.

Experience working in a Managed Services environment is desired.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a technical lead for resolving complex incidents and problems using ITIL/ITSM processes.
• Lead large scale Workspace One projects with IDM efforts.
• Design, develop, and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems.
• Execute and guide implementation of specific tasks through various application work streams to drive best-in-class operational support.
• Drive results through increasing reliability of applications and failover capabilities.
• Guide Reliability via Enterprise Transformation, influencing teams as they work towards maintaining 99.99% reliability targets, and beyond.
• Lead change and innovation - pursue opportunities to adopt new technologies and drive adoption to enhance business outcomes - drive and mange high-quality execution across organizational lines.
• Leverage cross functional teams to work with the right subject matter experts, and foster teamwork and collaboration
• Plan, coordinate and execute change management activities.
• Act as an escalation point for unresolved Tier 1 and 2 incidents and requests.
• Evaluate system performance and recommend and deliver improvements to enhance productivity, increase security posture and reduce costs.
• Document standard operating procedures.
• Communicate status of various projects to leadership.
• Mentor junior members of the team and other engineers on the VMware Workspace One engineering support and administration to drive reliability and improve customer experience.
• Maintain an awareness of changes in technology and advances in the industry and relevant systems.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours critical issue escalation and resolution.
• Demonstrate integrity and ethical behavior by complying with applicable laws, regulations and policies and requiring the same from others.


• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or similar technical discipline required.
• VCP 6 or higher certification strongly preferred
• Experience with VMware View 6-7 (Linked Clones, Floating/Persistent pools)
• Experience with VMware Persona Management and other profile management tools (Liquidware, AppSense, RES)
• Experience with VMware vCloud Director / vCloud Connector a plus
• Experience with Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery planning
• Experience with Data Center Optimization/Centralization
• Must be exceptionally proficient in VMware vSphere Administration (ESX 5/6)
• Deep understanding of VMware Workspace One, from the standpoint of administration, operations support, architectural design, solutioning, configuration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Horizon/Workspace One on Azure a plus
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy
• Windows Server and Desktop operating system expertise (Window 7-10, Windows Server), Linux Operating System (RHEL, SUSE, CentOS)
• Basic understanding of networking (layer 2-3)
• Basic understanding of SAN technologies (VSAN, iSCSI, NDS, determining LUN sizes/layout based on IOPS requirements)
• Experience developing technical diagrams
• Strong knowledge of scripting tools, including PowerShell
• Understanding of anti-virus technologies (Trend, McAfee, Symantec)
• Ability to handle demanding situations
• Strong resource and time management skills
