Submission & Processing of Application
GCOM provides a solution for the full lifecycle of application processing – intake (edit, submit, withdraw), payment, inspection & survey, research & resolve, issue, revoke. We use a configurable intake process to support multiple application types with individual business rules and workflows. Providers and other end-users have access to multiple channels (self-service portal, mail, or in-person) to submit a license/certificate application. Easy mobile access delight business owners allowing them the convenience of completing the process anytime at their convenience and be notified of the progress, while intelligent workflows delight agency workers allowing them to complete their tasks effortlessly.
City of San Antonio (COSA) Development Services Department
COSA selected GCOM to address the deficiencies in the Accela implementation of a previous implementation vendor. At the start of the project, approximately 1,000 user stories were created to address known errors within the system. Throughout the course of the project, additional stories were added as the validation was completed. The GCOM team was able to deliver the solution for COSA in an agile-like fashion. The system provides an electronic portal to modernize interactions with COSA DSD, the multi-channel customer-focused system of engagement for San Antonio consumers and businesses, modernization/consolidation of multiple existing transactional systems into a single, cost-effective enterprise platform, an analytics solution providing business insights/foresight to assist timely/actionable decisions.
How GCOM Assisted
GCOM successfully completed the implementation of COSA’s Enterprise Permitting and Land Use Software as a Service (SaaS) Solution on October 2, 2018, on time and on budget. The BuildSA system now has one system for processing all applications and/or renewals, instead of filing paper forms for various permitting applications. GCOM delivered an interactive web-based portal with better feedback and responsiveness regarding the status of online applications, streamlined processing with fewer start and stop points, reduced timeframes, and overall expedited licensing processes.
