What personal information do we collect and when?
The WIC mobile application collects the following information when you register:
- eWIC Card Number (this card should be active)
- Cardholder Date of Birth
- Cardholder Zip Code
- Login ID (email address)
- Password (encrypted with one-way encryption)
This data is contained behind a secured network. The Login ID to also stored as local app data.
We do not collect this personal information from visitors on our mobile app.
How do we use the personal information?
The information we collect is used to establish an account on the system. Once established, the account is used to display upcoming appointment information and details about your current and future benefits.
What non-personal information do we collect and when?
The WIC mobile application accesses the following non-personal information from your device:
- GPS Location
- Analytic Information
- Device Type
- OS version
- Carrier or Network the device is using
- Pages within the app that were accessed
The GPS information is accessed when the Clinics and Stores maps are accessed. The GPS information is not stored.
The Analytic information is collected as the app is used for analytic information purposes. This information is stored on a third-party system, separate from your personal information, and in such a way that is it is not possible to be combine with your personal information.
How do we use the non-personal information?
The GPS information is used to calculate distances to the Clinics and Stores for the purpose of limiting the locations displayed.
The Analytic information is used solely for preparing reports on the use of the app, and to improve the app and its services based on how it is used.
How do we protect your information?
Your personal information is contained behind a secured network and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. We implement a variety of security measures when a user enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information.
The analytic information is stored on a separate, third-party system/network, separate from your personal information, and is stored in such a way that is it is not possible to be combine with your personal information. Access to the data is limited to a small number of persons who have access rights to the system, who use the information for analysis as described earlier in this document.
